Along with the variety and number of enthusiasts of Japanese cuisine in Indonesia, the import of salmon in Indonesia is also increasing. Controlling imports of salmon is important because salmon is a competitive product of local fish. This study aims to formulate a strategy to control salmon imports. Based on the results of an analysis compiled based on the priority of outreach and education to the public about types of fish that have the same nutritional content as salmon, priorities for increasing the availability and improving the quality of local fish that have the potential to substitute for salmon, and priorities for participating in international trade cooperation for export market expansion, especially fillets salmon. Controlling the marketing of salmon imports is expected to increase consumption of local fish whose nutritional intake is not inferior to salmon so that the allocation of domestic imports can be reduced gradually.
