Abstract

The main purpose of teaching reading in the early grades is for students to be able to read. Therefore, teaching reading and writing in early grades, especially kindergartens, must achieve maximum results, in the meaning that students can read and write both letters and numbers. The teacher and student factor are fixed devices which are indeed the case, as are the material factors that have been designed in the GBPP. It is different with the method factor, which the teacher can still choose to apply in order to achieve the teaching objectives. One of the teaching methods which are used by teachers, especially kindergarten teachers of TK. Aisyiah Bustanul Athfal 01 Medan in teaching English vocabulary is the Alphabet Method. Alphabet Method is a method that uses the letters of the alphabet as a medium in learning, starting from the letter A to the letter Z. This method is applied by connecting the children’s personal experiences and cognitive abilities.The aim of this program is to provide an introduction to the skills and mastery of Kindergarten teachers in teaching English vocabulary.And it is expected that kindergarten students of TK. Aisyiah Bustanul Athfal 01 Medan can recognize English vocabulary taught by the teacher by using this Alphabet Method.
