Abstract

The partner of this Community Partnership Program (PKM) is SMP Negeri 11 Pematangsiantar. The problem faced by partners is the use of learning platforms as a medium in the teaching and learning process to develop the soft skills of teachers. Soft skills development of teachers can be through seminars, MGMP, special soft skills training, and character building. This factual condition is due to the limited reading materials and exercises that can inspire practice that can develop teachers' soft skills. Based on the results of interviews with school principals, the specific problems that cause this are also the main priorities of this Community Partnership Program activity, namely: 1) Limited knowledge of teachers about various things that can be done to develop soft skills in the use of learning platforms; 2) Limited skills of teachers in designing/making various soft skills development programs in the use of learning platforms; and 3) the low ability of teachers in implementing various programs in developing soft skills in the use of learning platforms. The method used is participatory model training with the icare approach (introduction, connection, application, reflection, and extension). The results achieved are: 1) Partners understand the various things that can be done to develop soft skills in the use of learning platforms; 2) Skilled partners in designing/making various soft skills development programs in the use of learning platforms; and 3) Partners are able to carry out various programs in developing soft skills in the use of learning platforms. This result gives great hope for the creation of a teaching and learning process that is conducive, takes place collaboratively, and is integrated with real life.
